Description
The Kings of War: The Chill of Twilight 2-Player Ambush Starter Set is the perfect way for two players to begin their Kings of War adventure – pitting the malevolent Twilight Kin against the hardy Northern Alliance.
The Twilight Kin have deliberately cast aside the morality and compassion that endowed Elvenholme with much of its grandeur at the height of the kingdom’s power. In their ruthless drive to restore the glories of the past, the Twilight Kin have shed the very essence of that past and become a sinister menace in the world of Pannithor.
Despite their rougher appearance, the elves known as Ice Kin are every bit as graceful and swift as those of other kindreds. With sharp blades and sharper senses, they fight to protect their newfound home, their winter attire doing little to stymie their elven celerity. Under threat of invasion and unwilling to join their Imperial cousins, dwarfen outcasts are drawn to Chill, braving the harsh frozen wastes to reach sanctuary.

WHO ARE THE NORTHERN ALLIANCE?
Deep in the Ice Mountains, on the frozen edge of the range known as the Howling Peaks, there stands an impossibility. It is enchanting, awesome, dominating and incomprehensible in equal measure. Bridging a high valley between mighty sentinels of rock, stands the implausible city of Chill.
Tribes of northmen have bent their knee before Talannar’s throne, as have snow trolls and even dispossessed dwarfs. Word of his realm has attracted elves who have cut their ties to the old world and sought new glories as part of this young nation.
The disenfranchised and the lost find a welcoming home within the walls of Chill. It is a rallying point for those that wish to unite for something greater, and a bastion against the darkness in the world. Read more about Northern Alliance Lore.
WHO ARE THE TWILIGHT KIN?
While the elves are one of the most noble races of Pannithor, the Twilight Kin are anything but. Though they share a common history, the Twilight Kin have developed a dark and disturbing culture and fighting style that has diverged drastically from other elven kindreds.
The rites of the Twilight Kin have created many places where the veil between dimensions has weakened and allowed Nightstalkers to slip into the mortal plane, with or without a crone to summon them – and in battle the Kin use Nightstalkers to bolster their ranks.
The twisted elves from the Pit of Despair will do whatever it takes to trigger the Great Return and restore their lost city of Ileureleith to its former glory…even if that comes at the expense of the other races of Pannithor.
The Void will swallow all!
