Pannithor is a world rich with history and intrigue, which we're going to start exploring in more detail!
As we gear up for the Northern Alliance's rules updates and new releases, here's what you need to know about this young nation, famed for their courage, hardiness and secrecy...
I: Ruler of the Northern Alliance, Prince Talannar originally comes from the highly respected elven house of Valellion, but brought its reputation crashing down in order to save his family from banishment.
II: Exiled into the north, Talannar bought his first followers simply with the rings from his fingers, which were priceless family heirlooms. Soon he was attracting followers through conviction and raw charisma.
III: The Northern Alliance’s home city of Chill is enchanting, dominating and implausible in its construction. Its blue walls and buildings are built from rock and ice. It is an inspiring rallying point for the disenfranchised and the lost.
IV: The Northern Alliance has grown into a promising young nation, with its own network of diplomatic envoys and trade routes.
V: The disparate dwarfs, elves, naiads, trolls, humans, and beasts of the cold north find themselves united under a single figurehead, capital, cause and banner. They are a powerful symbol of collaboration and represent a great hope for the future.
VI: Talannar is guided by, and protects, a great secret which other nations and factions are desperate to locate and understand. A sudden aura of power and energy emanating from the city of Chill has caught the eye of many evil forces in Pannithor, and rumours fuel suspicion among both current and potential allies.
VII: Chill is well protected, with a mighty network of watchtowers and outposts stretching outward from its commanding position.
VIII: To outsiders in the north, Talannar is known as the Silver Emperor.
IX: Many have come already for the secret within the walls of Chill, including an Abyssal Dwarf siege that lasted for 88 nights and stretched the Northern Alliance to breaking point. They were saved by the opening of the Nexus under Halpi, which ignited a new conflict in Pannithor, and the Abyssal Dwarf forces were recalled toward Tragar.
X: Talannar, after a warning from one of the Trident Kings, and under the guidance of a power unknown, took part of the beleaguered Alliance army and travelled to Halpi, eventually helping to cap the Nexus with a coalition of other factions, including Basileans and Elves. The Free Dwarfs, prevented from assisting in the battle for the Nexus, are now entrusted by Talannar and the coalition with its protection. Exactly how the Nexus was capped remains a mystery that only Talannar knows the answer to.
XI: Since the siege, the Northern Alliance have been fending off roving forces of Nightstalkers but so far have managed valiantly to hold back this strange and brutal new enemy. Life in the north is hard, but for now the main threats to this fledgling nation are under control.
XII: On the mountainside near the abandoned city of Blackridge and beyond, agents of the Twilight Kin have been busy setting wheels in motion that will lead to great and terrible events in the months to come…a new time of trial awaits…
