[[WARNING! WARNING!! CONTAINMENT PROTOCOLS INCOMING. ALL CITIZENS SHOULD REMAIN IN SHELTER. ALL SOLDIERS SHOULD REPORT TO BARRACKS! THIS IS NOT A DRILL. REPEAT. THIS IS NOT A DRILL]]
Although we’re gearing up to the highly anticipated launch of Firefight: Second Edition here at Mantic HQ, that’s not the only sci-fi action on the horizon. The Deadzone online campaign is coming and we’ve got the first details so you can start preparing your Strike Teams.
WHEN IS IT?
Good question! The online campaign will be taking place between May 16th and June 13th, which means you’ve got four weeks of Deadzone gaming goodness. Oh, and if you’re coming to the Containment tournament at Mantic HQ on the 14th, we’ll be counting those results toward the campaign too.
HOW WILL IT WORK?
Across the four weeks you will be battling for the future of Magnetar City – the location from the Deadzone two-player set. After being besieged by Veer-myn, the city is now attracting unwanted attention from all over the neighbouring Spheres.
Each week we’ll unlock a new district of Magnetar City for you to fight over and each area will have its own unique rules to keep things extra spicy. At the end of the campaign we’ll tally up the results for each faction to see who takes control of Magnetar… and ultimately what will happen to the beleaguered city.
We may even throw a little Firefight: Second Edition action in there too.
HOW YOU CAN TAKE PART!
We want as many Deadzone players as possible to take part in the campaign. Whether you play at your local store, at home, or with pals at your club, you can submit your results while the event is live.
There’s no set point limit, which means even beginners can take part, and we won’t be setting the scenarios – so you’ll be left to choose your favourites, or those you’re most familiar with.
Website Artificer Ciaran Morris is currently hard at work on a campaign site where you’ll be able to upload your results, check out the background behind the campaign, read the latest news, look at results, and more! The website will be going live in early May, so you can feast on all the info beforehand.
So, what are you waiting for? Get ready for four weeks of hardcore Deadzone action… and remember folks #deadzoneislife
