Midweek Round-Up 19th January

19th Jan 2022

Jonny Mann

Welcome to the Midweek Round-Up.

This is the place to find all the best hobby content from in and around the Mantic community over the last week or so.

This week we are focusing our periscope on Armada and we launch straight in with Rhuadrhi Oliver and his Orc Hammerfist.

William Cuthbertson has also been working on an Orc fleet. It is said the orcs could never be considered a seafaring race, but from the day they gazed out across the sea and saw two warring fleets ablaze as cannons roared, their greatest Krudger declared: ‘Yessssssss!’and any respectable Krudger would scream "Yesssssssss!" when they saw this fleet on the horizon.

Meanwhile, over on the dusty side of the sea, John Zablan did a fantastic job on this Empire of Dust Monolith. The hull colour and detailing are a real delight!

While some veteren hobbyists may already be well versed in magnetic storage solutions, Tom's Tabletop Bunker has put together this handy tutorial for storing and transporting your beloved fleet. He has used magnetic sheets, however you can also use steel sheets and smaller magnets recessed into the base, both of which we stock on our website.

Orcs have been very popular on the socials this past week or two, Nevil Jeremias went for a more natural, muted tone for these ships and they look wonderful.

Hopefully you saw our Community Spotlight article this week with Maciej Kulesza. He's been busy playing Basileans versus Empire Of Dust. Judging by the background to this image, he is just naval mad. I guess it's whatever floats your boat.

fabricatorsforge recently help an "Early afternoon game between Dwarves and Orcs in the open seas. This mission was all about holding each of 6 sections of the board. The orcs got out to early lead by sinking a ship on turn 1! However the Dwarves held their own and in the end lost by a single point!"

The Midweek Round-Up will be coming to you every Wednesday, so keep your eyes peeled! And if you want to make sure we spot your great work, use the hashtag #MyMantic when posting on social media.
