Ronnie’s New Year Round-Up

1st Jan 2025

Ronnie Renton

Well 2024 was a bit of a blast!

We revealed small-scale sci-fi in Epic Warpath, the Walking Dead: All Out War returned, the craziness of Worms: The Board Game made it into the hands of backers, we had two Kings of War faction refreshes, and then to top it all we unleashed the massive global monster that is Halo: Flashpoint….

….and I have a sneaking suspicion 2025 is going to be way bigger, and way more crazy!

A Big Year For Mantic Fans

Our first love is always Kings of War, and there was yet another record-breaking year of tournaments, starter set demand, two army refreshes (including the Forces of the Abyss – oh my!) and a little touch of controversy with the Command dice!

So, a bit of everything then – and if you want to dig deeper into the story of Kings of War jump in RIGHT HERE.

Over on the sci-fi side, Epic Warpath is building very nicely – the armies are looking stunning, gameplay is very slick, and the Super-Heavies, well they are super and they are BIG – even at Epic-Scale! Backers will be getting their pledges next year and the game will hit retail shortly after.

Throughout next year we will have more releases for both The Walking Dead: All Out War (after its return to the tabletop in late 2024), and our main game systems like Kings of War.

Dungeon Saga Origins will get another two campaign expansions, The Daughters of Doom and The Mirrors of Malice, we will get Worms: The Board Game back in stock, and with Mantic turning 15 years old, there's even a shocking rumour of Mantic Points finally getting a refresh!

Flashpoint Forges On

Oh, and yeah, we might have a few Halo: Flashpoint releases too! You know, things like the ability to give your fireteam a custom loadout (so you can equip your Spartans with new powerful weapons and equipment choices)…

And that’s before we talk about the Bani-…what, they are still secret? Okay, I won't talk about them then (just yet)...

Seriously, with a full wave of Spartans already incoming, and new releases, plus In-Store and Organised Play support throughout the year (not to mention actually getting the game back in stock) we think 2025 will be the year of Halo: Flashpoint!

We are the...

One of the most exciting launches early in the year is Kings of War: Champions… even if it has been developed by that goblin-lover Rob Burman *spits into a dwarven ale*. Pannithor is full of larger than life characters that can sometimes get a little lost on the battlefield because the regiments, war engines and monsters get all the limelight.

Champions aims to change that by focusing down on the key battles between Champions (aka heroes) and their handpicked troops. It tells the story of these heroes and their rise to prominence within Pannithor. Champions still has the tactical rank and flank gameplay and awesome hard plastic minis you love from Kings of War, but it’s been designed to play faster and take up less table space. We can’t wait to reveal more in the weeks to come.

And There's More!

Of course, we have few Mantic surprises too: where’s the fun without a few jaw-dropping moments! And let me say, we have more of those planned than we've ever had before...

From the future of our 'Advent Calendars with a twist', to fully unveiling King of War: Champions, a massive new licence or two, and finally the return of the best board game Mantic has ever done – with one of the biggest names in the industry coming to a neodurium pitch near you soon.

Stay tuned: 2025 is gonna be the biggest and best one yet...

So have a great one, roll lots of exploding 8's, and I hope to see at a Con or a show somewhere, sometime this year.

Best wishes,

Ronnie
