EDIT: There is now an updated version of the alpha rules complete with details on solo play, character creation and campaign progression. You can download there here.

Star Saga is now LIVE on Kickstarter and you've got until 21st October to jump on board to start unlocking all those sweet stretch goals!

Set in Mantic’s Warpath Universe, Star Saga: The Eiras Contract is a science fiction dungeon crawler for two to five players (with optional rules for solo play). Featuring strong story-telling elements and immersive game scenarios, Star Saga: The Eiras Contract will see players guide a team of mercenaries on a mission to retrieve stolen technology from a highly guarded research facility deep beneath the surface of the planet Eiras.

In Star Saga you’ll take on platoons of minions and powerful alien bosses, and quickly discover there’s more to your mission than a simple case of corporate espionage. Your employer—the mysterious bounty hunter called Blaine—is not all he seems, and when the nature of your objective changes, you won’t know who to trust. As the game unfolds you’ll be forced to make difficult decisions to stay alive as the story takes unexpected twists and turns.

Star Saga Alpha Rules

We've been working hard to play test the rules and wanted to give you the chance to try out Star Saga at home, so we're pleased to offer the alpha rules straight from day one of the Kickstarter. You can download the alpha rules here and give the game a go yourself. We'd also be interested to hear your thoughts on the gameplay too, so you can either comment below or head over to the Mantic Forum where there's an official feedback thread.

In the meantime, we've also filmed a gameplay video so you can see the alpha rules in action. Please bear in mind that none of the components in the video are final and the rules may change ahead of the finished, however, it's a great introduction to the core rules and covers a lot of the gameplay questions you may have.
