Unit Preview: Abyssal Berserkers

Dan Mapleston
Hi everyone,
With the spectacular Forces of the Abyss new miniatures launching next week it's time to take a more detailed look into some of the exciting new things coming your way.
We're going to preview all of the new units this week, including their rules so you know what you're getting - and why you'd want each of the new kits!
The rest of the faction balance updates will then launch alongside the Clash of Kings 2025 book very soon with every other faction.
First up: they're mean, they're lean, they're a fast-moving machine...
Abyssal Berserkers - The Rules
Let's take a look at the Abyssal Berserkers, a new Large Infantry unit for the Forces of the Abyss.
There's one instantly defining stat in this profile - these fiery fellows feel the need....the need for speed:
Yes, you read that correctly, they are freakishly fast.
Similar to Werewolves and other fast large infantry, Berserkers give the army a (very) fast-flanking unit capable of tearing across the battlefield before smashing into the enemy.
While fragile, they can regenerate on a 5+, so there’s the possibility to remove some of that ‘chip damage’ before engaging with a foe.
Hitting on a 4+ with plenty of attacks for a horde, these have the potential to wipe out weaker units. Use them wisely!
Abyssal Berserkers - The Models
Catching up with Dave from the Mantic Studio, he gave a couple of little insights into the new unit:
‘They’re not only big, but also lean and fast. Subtle details like their manacled wrists also hint at just how dangerous they are, even to their own kind between battles.’
Compared to the heavyweight Molochs, you can instantly tell that the Berserkers really are built for speed - they're all muscle, sinew and fury...
And because we know you love to see the kits themselves, here's the brand-new frame for the Berserkers - all moulded in lovely high-detail hard plastic that's easy to work with and good fun to assemble.
As with all our recent plastic kits, the 'A' parts are designed go together (i.e. A1-A7), and the same with the B-numbered and C-numbered parts - so make sure to have a look before you clip everything off the sprue! (If you already have, and that's why you're here, then just check out the below image for a speedy reference on what's what).
We can't wait to see what conversions and paint schemes the community can dream up once these get into your hands - they're shipping from next week, so not long to wait! If you haven't got yours yet, then just hit the button below.
TOP MONEY-SAVING TIP: if you haven't already, check out the Ambush Starter Set for an unbelievable deal on both new hard plastic kits!
Come back tomorrow, where we'll be covering another new unit for the Forces of the Abyss! We wonder who it issssss...?
