World of Pannithor: The Road Ahead
27th Dec 2024
Dan Mapleston
First things first, from the whole team here, we hope you've all had a truly fantastic Christmas!
As we sit back, contemplating all the possible ways to use up leftover turkey, we're pleased to bring you a few highlights from the many cool things that released this year for Pannithor fans.
Oh, and naturally, a few glimpses at what's coming next!
2024 - Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea
This year saw the studio and rules committee revisiting two much-loved Kings of War factions - those natural enemies, fire and water...
Amphibious Warfare
Firstly our frog-folk of the Trident Realm, the Riverguard and Dambusters, made the leap (ba-dum-tsss) into brilliant new hard plastic sprues.
The Coral Giant & Tidal Swarm also got their first-ever models, and the mounted Pond Warden Sentinel and Riverguard Arbalest joined the party for a toad-ally awesome line-up.
Combined with the existing range (naiads, thuul, gigas and more) the faction now offers a huge amount of variety for hobbyists, and we've seen some truly jaw-dropping new armies both online and at tournaments!
Fire and Brimstone
Later in the year, and emerging from the fiery Abyss, the Lord of Lies (a named character from 2nd edition) made a very dramatic return with a huge new miniature! We also introduced two brand-new hard plastic units: the snake-like Nagarri and the freakishly-fast Berserkers. Both bring interesting new tactical options to the Forces of the Abyss army, plus large and evocative new miniatures to fire up your battleline!
Finally, we released a jam-packed Clash of Kings 2025 - the annual collection of new art, lore, lists, updates, and scenarios for your Kings of War games. It's safe to say that an optional new way to play, with Command Dice, caused quite a stir. A genuine thank you to everybody that sent in player feedback - we're listening and we've heard you!
Now - what's waiting round the corner?
2025 - The Saga Continues
In 2024, Dungeon Saga Origins burst onto retail shelves - with loyal bands of friends and family kicking down the dungeon door, battling it out with the foul beasties of Pannithor's underworlds, and making off with arms of loot and legendary weapons...it's an all-round great time that we can't recommend highly enough!
Glimmer of Greed brought a goblin-infested second chapter to the story (with a truly explosive finale), and in early 2025 we'll be heading back for more dungeon-crawling fun with chapters 3 & 4: Daughters of Doom & Mirrors of Malice.
Now it's the turn of the Abyssal Dwarfs and the Twilight Kin to take on the role of dungeon baddies (which comes oh-so-naturally), with extra quests, dungeon tiles, miniatures, equipment, and bosses to do battle with. If you've enjoyed what you've seen so far in Dungeon Saga Origins, then get ready for things to ramp up once again!
2025 - Tales of Pannithor
From our friends at Winged Hussar Publishing/Zmok Books we'll see a wealth of exciting new stories in 2025!
Books 13-16 are preparing to join the Tales of Pannithor series, as the world grows deeper and richer each year. For now, here's a little preview of the upcoming cover art, titles and authors...
With another year of brilliant adventures ahead, we're looking forward to diving into the Tales of Pannithor once again.

2025 - A Time of Champions
Now...the piece de resistance. We all know that there's nothing quite like playing out a huge battle on a leisurely weekend afternoon.
But for those times that aren't a leisurely weekend afternoon, what if there was a faster way to get your fantasy fix? Something filled with exciting and interesting decisions, and that makes it incredibly easy to get gaming, even if you're new to the hobby?
From the mind of venerable Mantic alumnus Mr Rob Burman, we're very excited to announce this new game set in Pannithor and (obviously) a cast of stunning new miniatures!
We'll be fully introducing you to Kings of War: Champions in the first half of 2025, so not long to wait. Playtesting with fans both old and new has been a blast, so we know it's going to be a lot of fun and can't wait to reveal all in the months to come!
